Assistant Professor / Group leader Proteoform Profiling
Dr.

DETAILS

I am assistant professor and group leader of the Proteoform Profiling group. My scientific interests focus on the development and application of advanced mass spectrometric methods for the structural and functional characterization of (glyco)proteins of clinical and pharmaceutical interest. In particular, I aim to study proteins at the proteoform level to better understand their functional diversity. To this end, we utilize a variety of separation techniques, typically operated in the low-flow regime, hyphenated with MS to resolve molecular characteristics of proteins at the intact level. Recently, my group has developed a proteoform-specific binding assay based on affinity capillary electrophoresis-MS, enabling the study of proteoform-specific interactions in complex mixtures. This information can help understanding molecular mechanisms of proteoforms in health and disease and contribute to the development of better therapies.
