What followed were three days of exciting glycoscience, meeting with many friends and colleges, six wonderful keynote talks, 17 insightful selected talks and 50 beautiful poster presentations. Over 100 participants enjoyed the inspiring atmosphere of PLNT, the dinner and the boat tour on Monday evening and the wide variety of scientific topics discussed. We were happy our keynote speakers joined us: Karin Strijbis, François Foulquir, Ulrike Steffen, Daniel Bojar, Els Van Damme and Hans H Wandall.
Several excellent scientists received prizes, including Daniel Bojar ( The Roland Schauer Award of the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and Sri Swasthikawat and Bo Vercauteren (The Glycoscience NL poster prizes recognizing excellent science and great presentation).
This year’s event was organized by the LUMC team, consisting of Ron Hokke, Manfred Wuhrer, Noortje de Haan, Suzanne van der Plas - Duivesteijn and Laurien Bakker. We are looking forward the next edition organized by our colleagues in Augsburg, Germany!
