DETAILS

Details of your PhD project: My role in the MS Imaging group is research technician. My work mainly involves mass spectrometry imaging-based metabolomics and lipidomics. I contribute to sample preparation, MS imaging experiments, data processing, and data analysis. My main project focuses on identifying novel molecular markers that can help define tumor boundaries more accurately during malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor surgery, with the aim of supporting the development of in vivo imaging probes and improving surgical precision.

CURRICULUM VITAE

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Málaga, including an Erasmus exchange at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where I gained experience in cell biology and laboratory techniques. After graduating, I worked as a biologist in a pathology laboratory in Germany, gaining hands-on experience with tissue processing, sectioning, histological staining, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and quality control.

In 2025, I started the Master’s program in Biology (Molecular, Cellular and Organismal Biology) at Leiden University. During my Master’s internship at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics at the LUMC, I worked in the MS imaging group on the spatial analysis of glycosphingolipids in tissue using mass spectrometry imaging, including tissue preparation, matrix optimization, MSI acquisition, MS/MS identification, and data analysis.

From September 2026, I will start as a research technician in the MS imaging group at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics at the LUMC, contributing to a project on novel molecular markers for malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor surgery.
