My research focus is the development and implementation of novel analytical methods to capture the vast heterogeneity of antibody proteoforms present in the human body. Specifically, we want to assess the characteristics of antibodies that mediate autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The analytical characterization of autoantibodies is complemented by functional studies to resolve the impact of specific antibody proteoforms and thus provide a better understanding of autoimmune diseases.
