On May 21 the new Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics will be officially opened
Are you interested in the activities and new facilities of the CPM? Please join the grand opening.
Before, the CPM was spread through different locations within the LUMC. The new laboratories and offices at P-0 and P-1 improved knowledge exchange and alignment, and ensure optimal use of the facilities.
On May 21 at 16.00h, the new CPM facilities will be officially opened by the board of directors at the Buruma lecture hall (LUMC building 3, Hippocratespad 21, 2333 ZD Leiden) . On this occasion, the activities of the CPM will be introduced and you will get the opportunity to see the new facilities. Registration closed.
The Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics
Within the LUMC there are many research request for mapping proteins and metabolites. The CPM houses the knowledge and technology to perform this type of research. The most important techniques applied are liquid chromatography (LC), mass spectrometry (MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The CPM has expertise in proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, glycomics, mass spectrometry imaging and bioinformatics.
Major goals of the CPM are:
- Developing and implementing cutting-edge proteomics and metabolomics methodology and technology;
- Analysing disease-associated molecular mechanisms and biomarkers.
The CPM has collaborations with academical research groups in and outside the LUMC, and collaborates with (inter-) national research centers. In addition the CPM pursues collaborations with (biopharmaceutic) industry to apply the developed methodology and technologies. Furthermore the CPM trains and educate students and scientists.
